UHMW Wearshoes

UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) poly is the plastic of choice in idustrial and agricultural applications where abrasion resistance is required. Lundell Plastics has developed a process to pre-form UHMW to fit onto new or worn steel auger flighting, thus extending the life of the auger. Typical applications would be combines, grain carts, transport augers, grain bin augers and grain handling systems, wherever there is a high volume and wear is a problem.

 

The wear shoes are available in different diameters, pitches and thickness to fit most common augers. Each individual wear shoe covers one pitch (revolution) of the auger. They are pre-formed and pre-drilled for easy installation. They join together using a patented bevel lap joint and are bolted to the auger with a special UHMW-capped bolt which is counter sunk for a smooth surface.
