Lundell Plastics

Where Innovation Takes Shape.

Matt Roeder Celebrates 14th Anniversary

05-07-15

ODEBOLT, Iowa - When Matt Roeder stopped by Lundell Plastics in 2001 looking for a part-time job, he didn't foresee that he would still be with the Iowa plastics manufacturing company 14 years later. The Arthur Iowa native, who grew up on a farm, had become very passionate about all things engineering.

Upon graduating from high school, Roeder attended Iowa State University to pursue and his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering while still working part-time at Lundell. In December 2007, after completing internships at HUSCO and Gomaco, Matt readily accepted a full-time engineering position and is now Production Manager at Lundell Plastics.

Since the move back to the Odebolt area, Matt has been actively farming, and that personal, as well as professional experience, has led to product innovations for the company. "Our FreeFlo Wireless Remote and Dry Inoculator started out as personal projects to address a need I had on the farm." Roeder went on to say, "both of these eventually turned into production items."

Roeder, who uses Lundell Plastics products on his own agricultural equipment, including poly cupped flighting, combine grain tank floor liners, corn head liners and telescoping tubes, has not only tested each product in the field, but has also increased his farming efficiency through the use of Lundell products.

When asked what the most rewarding aspect of his position at Lundell is, Roeder responded, "We are a very hands-on company. The fact that I'm able to design and develop products and see them all the way through the production and sales process, is very rewarding."

In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Sara and their two year old son Mason, as well as hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles.
